This is a common error caused by Acrobat(TM), which uses Type 1 font to replace Truetype words; for example, "Arial Italic" looks very different from Type 1 version. You may solve the problem by using Gaaiho PDF Driver to embed Truetype font into PDF file.
1. Go to "Font Embedding" label in the printer properties of "Gaaiho PDF Driver"
2. Check "Embed all fonts" checkbox
3. Make sure your fonts are not listed in "Do Not Embed Fonts" box
4. Click "OK"
From now on, your fonts are embedded and will not be altered by Acrobat Reader. You should be able to see the same printing quality as in Microsoft Word.
